Dutch violinist André Rieu, renowned for his charismatic performances and impressive career, is set to return to Malta for two highly anticipated concerts on the Floriana Granaries on August 29 and 30, 2025. Rieu's return to Malta is a testament to the strong connection he feels with the island, making it a unique stop on his global tour schedule.

Rieu’s illustrious career is marked by the sale of over 40 million records and more than 500 platinum awards. His social media presence is equally remarkable, with 10 million followers on Facebook and billions of views and comments on YouTube. His concerts draw massive crowds worldwide, with over half a million followers annually. Known for his vibrant and engaging performances, Rieu will once again be accompanied by his Johann Strauss Orchestra, bringing their signature style to the Maltese audience.

Rieu’s concerts are celebrated for their elaborate costumes, magnificent stage designs, and interactive performances. His shows are a feast for the senses, blending classical music with waltzes, folk tunes, and film scores, all delivered with Rieu’s unique charm and humor. During his last visit, thousands of Maltese fans enjoyed the spectacular concerts at the Granaries, which were characterized by Rieu’s engaging interaction with the audience and his humorous visual background chats.

Charles Magro, representing the concert organizers, shared that Rieu was deeply impressed by Malta, describing it as the only location outside of his hometown Maastricht where he performs in an open-air setting. Rieu’s enthusiasm for Malta is evident, as he expressed his love for the country and its people, as well as his satisfaction with the technical aspects of the previous concerts.

The upcoming concerts will feature a stage setup similar to that of 2023, but with an added 2,000 seats to accommodate more fans. The repertoire will include a diverse range of music, from traditional melodies to popular film scores, designed to evoke emotions across all audiences, regardless of nationality or social class. The production is set to surpass previous years, with enhanced features and improved presentation.

The Johann Strauss Orchestra, often referred to by Rieu as his second family, includes musicians who have been with him for over two decades, alongside new talent from 16 different countries. This blend of experience and fresh perspectives contributes to the dynamic and captivating performances for which Rieu is famous.

As Rieu prepares for his return, he expressed his excitement and fondness for the Maltese setting, recalling his memorable experiences from his previous visit. "Fantastic. Looking forward. It is still in my mind…the beautiful square with all the people and the church there, and it is the only open-air I do – Malta and Maastricht," Rieu stated.

The 2025 concerts are set to be another highlight in Rieu's celebrated career, promising an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
