The festival, known for its cutting-edge electronic music lineup, will take place from August 13th to 16th, 2024, solidifying its reputation as one of the premier events in Malta's cultural calendar.

At a press conference held at Valletta Ditch on Monday, Clayton Bartolo, Malta’s Minister for Tourism and Public Cleanliness, officially launched the seventh edition of Glitch Festival. The event has rapidly grown in stature, earning a spot among DJ Mag’s top 100 festivals globally, a recognition that highlights its influence and popularity within the international electronic music scene.

“Voted by the public as one of the top 100 festivals in the world by DJ Mag, Glitch Festival continues to raise the bar with its stellar lineup and world-class production,” Minister Bartolo remarked. “This year, over 80 artists from across the globe will descend on Malta, showcasing their talents on one of the best-performing lineups in the international electronic music circuit.”

The festival is expected to make a significant impact on Malta’s tourism sector, drawing attendees from over 70 countries, including major markets like Australia, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Italy. The influx of 14,000 tourists will not only boost hotel bookings and local businesses but also reinforce Malta’s reputation as a key destination for music and cultural events.

A Growing International Presence

Karl Attard, representing the festival organizers, expressed excitement about the upcoming edition, stating, “Glitch Festival has always been about bringing together a diverse community of music lovers in a truly unique setting. This year, with over 80 incredible artists and the addition of Boiler Room hosting a stage, we’re pushing the boundaries even further. We’re thrilled to welcome thousands of visitors from over 70 countries to Malta, making this our most international and exciting edition yet.”

The Boiler Room stage, a new addition to this year's festival, will bring even more global attention to the event. Known for its intimate and immersive music experiences, Boiler Room has a massive following worldwide, and its presence at Glitch Festival will undoubtedly elevate the festival's profile.

The festival's continued growth and its recognition by the global music community are a testament to our island's vibrant spirit and our commitment to supporting the arts."

He also noted that events like Glitch are crucial in promoting Malta as a year-round tourist destination, especially among younger demographics who are often drawn to music festivals and cultural experiences.
