Visitors purchase tokens from cash points, which they can then redeem for any cuisine they want, including drinks and a choice of high-quality wines. The festival opened on Wednesday and runs until Sunday at the Granaries in Floriana. MTA Chairman Gavin Gulia said that such a festival not only celebrates the diversity of food, but brings everyone who works in this sector closer together, adding that it will also serve to show the diversity that Malta offers for everyone who wants to visit it. “We are excited to support this event that brings together diverse cultures and culinary traditions,” said Gulia. “The Malta International Food Festival not only celebrates food but also fosters community spirit and cultural exchange. It is a shining example of the diverse types of events held in Malta during the summer, showcasing our vibrant cultural scene and enhancing the overall visitor experience.” As part of a corporate social responsibility initiative, the organisers have teamed up with Missio Malta to deliver a live concert by popular local performers such as Kantera and Kurt Calleja over the last three days of the festival.
